Kids and Smart phones

Kids, Smart phone

If you think Smoking and gambling will lead to addiction so are smartphones and gaming devices. Every year across the world there are lot of kids addicted to mobile devices or gaming. You may think that you have not heard such a thing from anyone you are close by! That is the problem! Not many people care about kids using mobile devices all through the day until it pops up as a huge problem.
Have you heard of Nomophobia, yes it is term to refer people affected by mobile devices. People with nomophobia will be distressed and anxious when they do not have mobile devices. There are little known facts on kids with nomophobia but with access to wide range of devices it’s not far that kids will also be affected. This article will speak more on parents and their smart device behaviour because kids learn quickly from parents.

In most cases kids start using when they turn 1 year of age. With busy life style and cut throat schedules for parents they turn to mobile, tablets and games for babies, toddlers. Internet is one of the primary catalyst with which the addiction starts. Everyone needs everything to be started, completed immediately on a touch. If baby/toddler is fuzzy eater and not eating quickly open YouTube and play rhymes. Baby is happy, mom/dad is happy. STOP right there. Please stop doing this. This is where the addiction starts for most of the kids. Do not get encouraged with this habit and think about the actual issue of why baby is fuzzy in eating.

Imagine yourself in a stone age where there will be no devices, no internet, no TV. It’s only you, your family with food. Don’t go blank! There are way to survive and enjoy at the same time.

Mom/Dad with babies/toddlers can talk/act/sing/mime and have fun. The goal is to get engaged with them. Try various options and find what they like and continue it doing. It’s as simple as that. Some days it would be difficult with the time given, but plan yourself. Give more time with babies/toddlers. Set your mind for the worst and lots of patients. If you have more than one kid have a family dinner time.

Now coming back to mobile devices, remember discipline starts from you as a parent. If you use mobile device, if you watch smart TV, if you play Xbox or play station please control it. I am not saying stop it, just control it. Build discipline in using smart device for yourself. Keep a control on Facebook, messaging services, YouTube etc. don’t get glued to you device whenever you hear a message tone or see a led blinking. Don’t get anxious, if you don’t see the mobile you are going to lose your job or money. Bring your self to a habit of checking the smart devices or play games for a limited time of a day. Remember if kids see you using mobile phones or play games, they will be tempted to use it and explore it.

Kids with existing problem of using smart phones and playing games must be moulded in a different way. First identify what application they are using in smart phone, is it mobile games, chatting or watching cartoons in YouTube. Identify the peak period of smart device usage, is it evening, morning or night. Start putting a plan together by discussing with your partner. Both the partners should cooperate to help your child see the beautiful world. In Evening encourage kids to go out and play. Join with them for the fun for few weeks until they create interest in playing outdoor or cycling in nearby park. If the usage of mobile devices or playing games are high during dinner/night time bring a discipline for the whole family. Change Wi-Fi password, switch-off if not required. Get to an understanding with kids that use of internet or online games is only during these hours or days. Distract the family with family time quiz, singing song, playing chess or simply discussing on various things around you. Recognise the sacrifice the kid is doing by taking them out for movies or beach or new place. The more distraction from smart devices the faster the control and discipline will come.

We want our kids to be strong, healthy and then teach the kids to see the world through eyes than smart phone cameras. Teach the kids to talk face to face than using Facebook. Five Fingers in a hand are not the same in the same way every person and place in the world is different with unique qualities. If we teach our kids about addictiveness, flexibility, people, places and to be humane they are fittest for survival in future world of unknowns!

Chatkazz, Harris Park

Recently I visited Chatkazz Chat shop in Harris Park. The ambiance and the mood of the restaurant was cool and happening. Something exactly what you would expect when you are in India. There is indoor and outdoor sitting area.

http://chatkazz.com.au/

Coming to taste its a big YES. Chatkazz really offers true Mumbai style street food in a pleasant environment. There are so many varieties it took  a while to decide what to eat first :) All favorite chat foods under one roof, its a restaurant to try.

Cost is reasonable in parallel to the taste. Service was good and quick.

You can park your car either in front of the restaurant(if available) or park behind the shop.

Hope the management will maintain its flavor and keep the mouth watering dishes the same way

Happy Eating and Chatting.

Gangnam Style song

Gangnam Style -
------------------
Gangnam Style, Ohhhh man, this song is amazing and mainly catchy. Catchy songs are always a hit, but if you think why this song has become so sensational and famous it’s because of reach of internet and the number of people started using it. Also, the song itself is odd and super.

Gangnam style video is amazing and neatly presented. Also, the way Psy has sung is cool. Psy has brought a new string of music.

Please listen it and view in Internet. Just search “Gangnam Style” and you will be listed with links…

Tips for last minute Christmas shopping December 2012

Good Day,

Christmas is near and dear to all....In no time it just passes away and we pass each day until next comes in. Shopping for Christmas should or would have been completed by this of the year for most of the people, but don't worry, there is always an other side of the coin. If you are one among the major population who is yet to do Christmas shopping don't worry there is time to stand and stare always, if you plan it smartly. I LOVE LAST MINUTE SHOPPING tag line is more apt for every one who falls under this category. In this post I will share some of the best and my personal last minute shopping tips with which you can survive and get the best of all on time...

First, count number of days or hours left for the D day, that is for the Christmas day or the day you are planning to give the gift or presents. This exercise will give you an idea how fast you need to shop and move on... For example if you have 3 days more for Christmas and you want to buy 10 gifts, we will plan accordingly...

Second, what age group of people or friends or relatives or official are you planning to buy gift. Is your gift for Friends, Relative, Family, Official or gifts or presents  for Kids, if so then categorise it, which will make your shopping spree simple most of the time..For example out of 10 gifts 2 for Kids, 2 for Friends, 2 for family, 2 for Relatives etc...

Third, Which suburb are you planning to shop or which shopping mall are you planning to shop. If you want any specific gift available in a different shopping centre, then buy it first. Decide your mode of transport for buying gifts. As Christmas gets nearer road traffic also gets worst and long. So, if your gifts or presents can be easily carried in train or bus and far from your home, then prefer public transport for faster shopping. Choose a suburb or center where more than one shopping mall or centre is available. Choose a shopping centre where more wide variety of shops are close to each other. For example if you choose Parramatta Westfield shopping center then you have more wide variety of shops. DFO in home bush is close to TOP RYDE shopping centre and RHODES shopping centre. There are many shopping centre which are open till midnight, some of the web pages are below...

Fourth, Buy gifts for Kids first. With my experience buying gifts for kids is the most time consuming and tedious task also not to disappoint them. Christmas is fun with kids and family. Choose the right gifts for kids, always buy them what they wanted or wished (Within your budget and age of kids).

Fifth, Think overnight on what type of gifts to buy, list it and take it with you. Shop for only those type of gifts . More you change the gift idea, the more you get confused and tired... Get it gift packed in the shop itself or spend time to pack it in shopping centre itself.

At last, check you have got gifts, presents for all and have a happy dinner and good sleep before Christmas....

Have a good holiday and happy Christmas 2012. Hope These Gifts ideas for Christmas is useful.
Remember Gifts or just a visible token of love, always the true love, affection, faith and trust will never be compromised or replaced with any other gift in any one's life.
